Grace A. Guzowski

February 27, 1968 – June 14, 2024

Grace Rheaume Guzowski passed away on Friday, June 14th, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Detroit, Michigan at Providence Hospital on February 27th, 1968. Grace was blessed to be one of fourteen children of her dear parents, Henry and Marilyn Rheaume (Guthard). Grace treasured her hometown Dryden, where she graduated from Dryden High School and spent her days with family and friends at their beloved farm, Valley View.

She graduated from Michigan State University as a proud Spartan. She received her Bachelor of Social Work, which she used to serve individuals from all stages of life; from adolescents to hospice patients. She dedicated her career to bettering the lives of those most in need. In both a professional and personal capacity, Grace was always there to listen, lend a hand, or solve a problem. She was a natural leader and an expert problem solver. She was a confidante, counselor, and best friend to so many. Her knack for storytelling, her quick wit, and ability to make anyone in the room laugh are just a few of the many qualities we will miss about her. Her jovial nature, infectious spirit, and abundance of love knew no bounds.

Grace was fervent in her Catholic faith, dedicating service to both St. Francis Xavier in Otisville and St. Charles and St. Helena in Clio. She worked as the Director of Religious Education and regularly served as a Eucharistic Minister. She lived by her faith and was a perfect example of what it meant to be a servant of the Lord. She was a devoted wife to her husband, John Guzowski, and a loving mother to her four children, John Henry (Victoria), Kate, Kayla, and Kendra. She lived in Columbiaville on a property shared with her dear sister Katie and their families. She was loved by so many in the community, whether that be her fellow parishioners, neighbors, social work clients, or friends. Grace never missed an opportunity to celebrate, always playing host, whether or not it was her party. She threw countless showers and planned remarkable family parties at her beloved clubhouse at Valley View. She truly embodied living life to the fullest, never hesitating to plan her next trip. She made many memories on her road trips through the national parks and holy pilgrimages across Ireland, Italy, Spain, and Poland.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marilyn Rheaume (Guthard), and her brothers, James and Edward Rheaume. She is survived by her loving husband John Guzowski, her son John Henry (Victoria), and daughters Kate, Kayla, and Kendra. She leaves behind her siblings, Henry Rheaume III (Mary), Peter Rheaume (Betsy), Stephen Rheaume (Ruth), Joseph Rheaume (Sheila), Gerard Rheaume (Donna), David Rheaume (Elizabeth), Marie Schultz (Carl), Paul Rheaume (Kristyn), Greg Rheaume (Andy), Matthew Rheaume (Kimberly) and Katherine Baxter (Scott), and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving in-laws.
